Diana is ready to GO

Diana heard back from her last two applications this month and the news is…ok. Not horrible, but not what she wanted. Fortunately, she’s still got lots of options available. Read the full interview below.

Meet the Class gets updated each month from September to May. Each installment features an interview about both the facts and the feelings of where the student is in the process.

Interviews may be edited lightly for clarity and grammar. Names may be changed to protect privacy.

Diana ATTENDS A Public HIGH SCHOOL IN Texas

Have you heard back from U.T. or A&M yet? I know everything else depends on what you hear from them. Any news to share?

I was offered the CAP program by UT and A&M waitlisted me and is considering me for their Blinn TEAM program

Who is your frontrunner right now? If the process ended this week, where do you think you would be?

I don’t really have a frontrunner because for me it all depends on which school can give me the most financial aid.

You mentioned that you were thinking about going on some visits. Did you visit anywhere in January? If so, how did it go? Do you have any coming up?

I did not go on any visits but I need to visit OU again soon.

How's it going on the financial aid front? Are schools being realistic? Generous? Disappointing? How likely does it seem right now that your top-choice school will also be affordable?

I haven’t heard back about any financial aid because I need to submit some outstanding documents. I’m really only looking at Baylor, Oklahoma and Texas Tech now.

What's the mood like for seniors at your school? Are most people in "waiting mode," hoping to hear back from colleges? Is it stressful? Are you looking forward to graduation yet, or does that seem like a long way away?

Everyone is ready to GO. Most of us have already been accepted to our schools and it’s just about choosing now. We’re all so ready to graduate.

Diana’s College List:

Baylor University—accepted, offered scholarship!

Texas A&M University —waitlisted

Texas Tech University—accepted

University of North Texas—accepted

University of Oklahoma—accepted

University of Texas Austin—CAP acceptance

University of Texas Dallas—accepted
